Refund Policy

Last updated September 2026

Refund requests are handled differently depending on how an invoice was paid, and what stage the underlying project work is at.

Card payments (USD / MAD, via Paddle)

USD and MAD card payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, who act as the Merchant of Record and are the seller on the transaction receipt. If you paid by card, you can request a refund either by contacting Smartara at the address below, or directly through Paddle at paddle.net, referencing your transaction ID. Paddle handles the mechanics of the refund once approved.

Card payments (GMD, via Modem Pay)

GMD payments, including Wave, are processed by Modem Pay. To request a refund on a GMD payment, contact Smartara at the address below with your payment reference; we will coordinate with Modem Pay to process it.

Project work

Whether a payment for project work is refundable depends on how much of that work has already been delivered, and on the terms of the specific proposal or contractor agreement signed for that project — that agreement is the controlling document. As a general starting point: an invoice raised before work has started is refundable in full on request; an invoice raised for completed or delivered work generally is not, since the deliverable has already been provided.

If something about a project isn't working for you, the fastest path is to reach out directly — most concerns are resolved by adjusting scope or timeline rather than a refund, but refunds are considered case by case.
